Emirates’ DP World handled 19,3 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) across its global container terminals in the first quarter of 2022, with gross container volumes increasing 1.7% year-on-year (y-o-y) on a reported basis and up 1.9% on a like-for-like basis.

In the first quarter, volume growth was driven by Asia Pacific, Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
Qingdao (China), Sokhna (Egypt), London Gateway (UK), Yarimca (Turkey), Dakar (Senegal), Caucedo (Dominican Republic), Buenos Aires (Argentina), and Posorja (Ecuador) provided a strong performance at the asset level. In the first quarter of this year, Jebel Ali handled 3.4 million TEU, a decrease of 1 percent over the year before.
During the first quarter of 2022, the company’s terminals handled 11.3 million TEU, up 1.4% on a reported basis and 1.1% year-over-year.

DP World was also awarded this year’s Vaccine Industry Excellence Awards for Best Logistics Technology and Cold Chain Delivery. The award recognized DP World’s contributions over the past two years towards addressing the challenges of vaccine delivery and supply chain bottlenecks.
DP World and UNICEF formed a three-year partnership to support UNICEF’s COVAX mission during the Covid-19 pandemic. UNICEF was given free access to the company’s logistical services worldwide, allowing it to provide two billion vaccine doses to hard-to-reach nations by 2022.
